Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Taskforce

Every member of the William & Mary School of Education community should feel welcomed, respected, and valued. In order to facilitate the School of Education’s continued work to ensure that the school is an inclusive place for individuals of all backgrounds and perspectives, the Dean has established a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Task Force. The charge to the Task Force is to engage with three areas of inquiry:

  1. To what extent does the School of Education succeed in its goal of making its community a welcoming place for all of its members, including students, faculty, administrators, staff, and alumni, and how can we improve in areas in which we fall short?
  2. How can the School of Education more successfully recruit, support, and retain a diverse student body, faculty, administration, and staff?
  3. What efforts should be undertaken to help members of the School of Education community better understand and engage with diverse experiences and perspectives?

The Task Force will meet regularly over the Spring 2019 semester, researching best practices and engaging across the School of Education community. Its final report will be due by June 30, 2019.

Questions or comments about the work of the Task Force may be directed to [[meconstantino,Dr. Margaret Constantino]] or [[dsosbo,Dorothy Osborne]], co-chairs of the Task Force.
