One Tribe One Day 2021
A day to focus on community and invest in change
As teachers, counselors, school psychologists, school leaders, researchers and advocates, we know that education is the key to transforming our society for the better. April 13, 2021 is our eighth annual One Tribe One Day. This year, as we continue to navigate enormous challenges including a global pandemic and a profound racial reckoning, we seek to live out our school values. We strive to create a community — and a world — where every person is respected and every person has the opportunity to thrive.
Provide Flexible Support
Private support helps us make a meaningful impact in our community, strengthening our ability to meet the most pressing needs of students, teachers and families. During this time of financial uncertainty due to the pandemic, your gift to the Fund for Excellence will make an immediate impact. Unrestricted giving provides an essential, flexible source of support as we work with partners locally and across William & Mary to advance equity, educator preparation, and community engagement.
When you give to William & Mary, you not only make a difference for our students and faculty but all those they go on to help, all over the world. Thank you for being a part of our community.
Virtual Events
Celebrate One Tribe One Day by joining in conversations with partners across campus as we share stories of impact and connection.
Camp Launch: Providing Access to Educational Opportunities for Students of all Backgrounds
9:00 a.m.
Since 2012, William & Mary’s Camp Launch, a privately funded two-week residential summer program for middle and high school students hosted by the Center for Gifted Education, has been changing the lives of high-ability youth from disadvantaged backgrounds. Designed to provide students with a vision for the future that extends beyond the world they know and to instill a love of learning, Camp Launch allows participants to explore STEM fields, writing and personal development. An exciting new opportunity will be available for campers in 2021 with the addition of day and residential marine science programs offered at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS). Please join us as we discuss the impact Camp Launch has had on providing equal access to educational opportunities, building stronger communities and developing a pipeline for diversity in STEM fields.
W&M VET: Optimizing the Military & Veterans Network
12:00 p.m.
Made possible by a generous $10-million gift from an anonymous alumna, W&M VET (Veteran-to-Executive Transition) is an incredible demonstration of cross-campus interdisciplinary partnerships to support our veteran students, alumni and veterans in our community. Join us at our virtual table to discuss W&M VET, veteran affairs on and off campus, and how W&M is making a difference for those who have served our country.
