Natoya Haskins, Co-Director

Natoya HaskinsDr. Haskins is an associate professor of counselor education as well as Associate Dean and Director of Diversity and Inclusion for the School of Education. During her 15-year career in counseling and counselor education, she has been committed to equity and inclusion. At William & Mary, she has built courses and expanded curriculum offerings related to multicultural competence, founded and co-directs the Social Justice & Diversity Research Fellows Program, served as the co-director of WMSURE and has developed a range of inclusion initiatives at the School of Education, including Courageous Conversations and the Diversity & Inclusion Mini-Grant Program. Her research focuses on strategies to support underrepresented students and faculty, as well as culturally responsive theories and the role of school counselors as social justice activists.

Janise Parker, Co-Director

Janise ParkerJanise Parker is an assistant professor of school psychology. She completed a two-year postdoctoral appointment in the school psychology program at the University of South Florida, doing both research and teaching, prior to coming to William & Mary. In addition to her current appointment, Janise is a Licensed Psychologist and Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP). Dr. Parker's research primarily focuses on student engagement and motivation among adolescents from underrepresented groups and culturally responsive practice in school psychology. Along those lines, she has much experience collaborating with high school educators to support at-risk youth from diverse backgrounds and providing counseling support in public schools for middle and high school students.
