Each year an estimated 380,000 minors will be homeless and on their own.
Justice system involvement may contribute to youth becoming homeless and youth may enter the juvenile justice system for reasons related to their homelessness.
The Coaliition for Juvenile Justice launched Collaborating for Change: Addressing Youth Homelessness and Juvenile Justice, a project with two main goals:
1. To decrease the likelihood that homeless youth become involved with the juvenile justice system; and
2. To prevent youth homelessness among justice-involved youth.
