Counseling Services

The Center for Gifted Education is committed to serving the needs of gifted students, including their psychological needs. Families in the Williamsburg area seeking psychological counseling for a gifted child or adolescent may contact an affiliated counselor with training in giftedness. The W&M New Horizons Family Counseling Center serves all schools within the following areas: Gloucester, Hampton, New Kent, Newport News, Poquoson, Williamsburg/James City County, and York. Services for families in these areas are provided free of charge.

For those outside the New Horizons service area, Dr. Carrie Lynn Bailey can provide private counseling.

Her approach with clients is grounded in a humanistic worldview that upholds the potential of each individual to grow and move forward along unique developmental paths.
