Diversity Resources

Many Voices - One Tribe.  As an institution, The College of William & Mary is committed to the national ideals of human equality, democracy, pluralism, and advancement based on merit in the preparation of women and men to be citizens of a wider world. To this end, the College strives to be a place where people of all backgrounds feel at home, where diversity is actively embraced, and where each individual takes responsibility for upholding the dignity of all members of the community.

Within this campus context and building upon a long-held commitment to diversity, the SOE faculty recently re-articulated its shared beliefs regarding the nature and importance of diversity in education. The School of Education Statement on Diversity serves to guide the ongoing work of the SOE with regard to program design, implementation, evaluation, and improvement.

The Center for Student Diversity (formerly the Office of Multicultural Affairs) is a unit within the Division of Student Affairs.  In alliance with the William and Mary mission, the Center for Student Diversity (CSD) strives to foster inclusion, collaboration, and relationship-building within our campus community. The Center provides academic, social, and transition support for underserved and underrepresented students and promotes exchange and dialogue between individuals of diverse backgrounds and identities.  They also serve as an information center, providing training and resources to the campus and local Williamsburg community regarding multicultural and diversity topics.
