Higher Education Administration

The Higher Education Administration doctoral concentration provides students a solid foundation of course work to support career options in administration, faculty, or student affairs. All students receive grounding on the issues concerning academic life, the history of higher education, student development, and organizational operations. This broad platform provides students with several options for individual exploration of topics of interest as well as creating a skill base for numerous jobs in colleges, universities, and associations supporting a career in higher education.

  • Ph.D. Degree - Primary Career Intention: Upper level administrative positions and faculty careers within colleges and universities; policy-oriented positions in centers, associations, or government (e.g., higher education faculty, policy analyst, state or federal government higher education support offices, college president, consultant, administrative positions that support student affairs, student advisement, development, residential life, academic affairs, continuing education and outreach, international affairs, community college administration)
