Educational Leadership - Administration & Supervision preK-12
Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Educational Policy, Planning and Leadership

The M.Ed. program in administration and supervision preK-12 emphasizes the skills needed for leadership positions in PreK-12 educational organizations. For students who hold a valid Virginia teaching license and have three years of successful teaching experience, this degree can lead to the addition of an endorsement in administration and supervision by the Virginia Department of Education. Students admitted to other graduate degree programs in the School of Education may also pursue administrative licensure by working with their advisor to plan a course of study that includes all of the required coursework. NOTES:
 

Education F65 and Educational Foundations (ED F09, ED F11, or ED F12) are not required as part of the Introductory Core if the individual holds a master’ s degree in education or related field which included equivalent courses.

CRIN X48 is not required as part of the Introductory Core for students who have had previous undergraduate or graduate courses in special education.

EPPL 587 is not required for individuals who already hold a masters degree in education or a related field.

EPPL 550, EPPL 586, and 587 are not required for individuals who are interested only in earning a degree and where no licensure is sought.

CULMINATING EVALUATION EXPERIENCE Students in the M.Ed. Program in Educational Leadership must arrange an exit interview during the last semester of their program of study. The interview is conducted by the faculty of the Educational Leadership Program to obtain evaluative feedback about a student’s experiences in the Program
