Meet the Faculty & Staff

Chris takes pride in the people associated with the College and its work to educate. She feels students should study in the School of Education because the leadership of our graduates is exceptional.
Bruce Bracken, a professor of education at the School of Education, was recognized by the American Psychological Association (APA) for research and scholarly contributions.
A longtime Williamsburg resident, Susan holds a M.Ed. in Community and Addictions Counseling from the College of William & Mary.
Professor Janet Parker teaches curriculum & instruction courses in methods and instructional planning for classical and modern languages in the undergraduate and graduate M.A.Ed program.
Dr. DiPaola's teaching and research interests include the interactions of professionals in school organizations, school leadership, improving instruction and the superintendency.
Dr. Eddy is one of the new members of the School of Education faculty. She teaches courses on policy, higher education finance, and organization and governance in the EPPL Program.
Dr. Gareis teaches courses in the Educational Policy, Planning, & Leadership area of the School of Education.
Dr. Hindman received her Ph.D. from The College of William and Mary, her M.T. and BA degrees from the University of Virginia.
Darlene McCoy was born and raised in the Williamsburg area. She has been with HTSAC since 2003.
Megan Tschannen-Moran teaches educational leadership and is proud to be a member of a team that prepares exemplary school leaders.
The newest member of the HTSAC team is Davina, who holds a M.Ed. in School Counseling from the College of William & Mary.
Jan Rozzelle helps Virginia teachers incorporate the latest research into their classrooms.
Steven Staples received his BA in History from William and Mary (Go Tribe!) and his Masters in Ed Administration from William and Mary (he BLEEDS green and gold).
Joyce VanTassel-Baska, Professor Emeritus was recently honored upon her retirement.
As Director of Professional Services, in the Office of Teacher Education and Professional Services, Deborah enjoys working with teachers and administrators in the local school divisions to ensure positive field experiences for students in the teacher and counselor education programs.

Sandy Ward joined the faculty at the College of William & Mary in 1989 after working as a school psychologist.
