Advanced Placement Summer Institute
AP July 30 - August 3, 2012
Purpose
The Advanced Placement Summer Institute is designed to help new, beginning, and future AP teachers plan and implement more effective AP programs in their schools. The Institute workshops share with teachers the curriculum content and teaching methods of AP courses and explore the content, structure, and grading of the AP exams. In addition, the workshops afford teachers the opportunity to interact with colleagues and to discuss issues and concerns surrounding the AP courses they will teach. The intended audience for all workshops is teachers who have never taught AP courses or who have 1-3 years of AP teaching experience.

Pre-AP Summer Institute
The Pre-AP Summer Institute is endorsed by the College Board. It provides an opportunity for teachers to get an in-depth experience in a Pre-AP strategy or topic. Similar to the AP Summer Institutes, this 4-day (30 hours) professional development event is built on the experience of talented practitioners, while maintaining the fidelity of the Pre-AP initiatives of the College Board.
