3. School Leadership Institute: The School Leadership Institute develops programs for superintendents and other school leaders on critical educational leadership issues.
4. School Psychology & Counselor Education: The School Psychology and Counseling programs prepare highly qualified professionals to practice in the public schools or in related educational and mental health settings.
5. School Psychology Program: The School Psychology Program is an innovative 3-year program in which students begin working within schools during their first semester.
6. School-University Research Network: The School-University Research Network (SURN) began in 1993 as a partnership of the School of Education with the Virginia school systems to conduct relevant research and provide professional development in order to promote quality teaching and learning.
7. Secondary Education: The Secondary School Teaching M.A.Ed. programs includes educational foundations course work, methods and curriculum courses relevant to their teaching specialty, clinical and student teaching experiences.
8. Secondary Math/Science: For teachers already holding certification.
9. Special Education: The master's degree program in Special Education: General Curriculum (K-12) prepares special education teachers to work in a variety of educational settings.
10. Special Education Administration: The Special Education Administration concentration within the Educational Policy, Planning and Leadership area supports the mission of the School of Education by providing initial preparation and continuing education for those who wish to serve in leadership positions in the field of special education.
11. Student Organizations: In the School of Education, there are three organizations for students to actively participate in at the graduate level.
