Daria LorioTruly, it is the people within the School of Education at the College of William and Mary that make the program outstanding and unforgettable. Certainly, this was my experience.

I applied to the College of William and Mary because of its stellar reputation for academic excellence, the rigorous curriculum, and the expertise of the professors. While deciding which graduate school to attend, I was amazed by the immediate, warm and caring feedback I received from William and Mary.

As an out-of-state student I had numerous concerns. The director of admissions, Dot Osborne, was incredibly gracious and patient with all of my questions and requests about housing, tuition, or graduate assistantships. My advisor, Dr. DiPaola, amazed me by responding to my emails within hours and ensuring that I was ready to start the program. During our first meeting Dr. DiPaola showed that he really cared about me as an individual - he wanted to know about my goals and "what I was all about."

Throughout the master's program I experienced the same care and support from peers, staff, and faculty alike. The academic expectations I had for the program were exceeded. The professors shared their expertise and encouraged and pushed me to grow as a professional - they are wonderful mentors. Dr. DiPaola, Dr. Tschannen-Moran, and Dr. Staples provided guidance and continuously supported my passion for education. During my internship experiences, I realized how well the program at William and Mary prepared me for the profession.
