Protection of Human Subjects Certification

Don't do research without it!

Human Subjects Certification.  The policy at W&M is that all faculty, staff, and students who are involved in human subjects research must have a certificate of training before conducting any research.

To facilitate this, W&M has contracted with the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative at the University of Miami (CITI) to provide on-line educational modules. Those who complete the required modules will get a certificate of successful completion and the certification is reported to the Office of Sponsored Programs.

CITI on-line Compliance Training Programs: can be found at this link. Please register under affiliation with "College of William & Mary" when creating your login.

Protocol Submission. To request Committee approval for a project, go to the Protocol and Compliance Management system to login. School of Education faculty, staff, and student should submit their protocols under EDIRC when asked to select a committee. Typical response time for the Committee is two to three weeks.
